The goal of the series is to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ in our world (Christmas in this context of Pandemic, Lament, Thanksgiving, Advent).“Prepare the way of the Lord” is a series towards Christmas 2020. 2020 has been the year of COVID-19, a year of lockdown. It has changed our life, in many ways, not the least being home bound, everything going on line, testing our patience; poor and already-on-the margins being pushed more to the margins. Over 1.2 million people have already died, more records are being set for how many are being infected each day. There has been no other more urgent time (in world scale) to pray “come Lord Jesus.” Death, disease, suffering and grief has taken its toll. This is against God’s will for the world. Jesus said, “I’ve come to give you life, life to the full.” This Christmas, we “prepare the ways of the Lord” This means a) understanding the Lord, b) his ways, and then c) preparing. This series will follow the life track of John the Baptist who’s life mission was to “Prepare the Way of the Lord” and nothing else. A life expendable to the mission.
