The question is no whether we are rooted or not, but where and in-what are we rooted in? We need a rooted life. It’s about commitments we hold deeper than our actions and products. It’s a series in discipleship as model of ministry of xWay (and NRC) churches. The need (Fallen Condition) is the culture and society sold on consumerism. We have become individuals in pursuit of our personal happiness and goals. Life’s driven by desires unless we put rein (bridle) on it, it’ll run its course and consume us.“Mission trumps everything” “But a clear through-out conviction that comes from within one’s values is consistent with one’s beliefs is like a healthy spine and strong core muscles. They enable us to stand without wavering, to keep our balance, to stay grounded without having to be overly defensive or attacking” We are like a well-rooted sequoia that can withstand fires and storms. Others may get blown away or consumed, but convictions help us stand.” (Bolsinger, Canoeing the Mountain. 133). “Rooted”Purpose of the series is to learn where and how life grows and fruit it produces. Ask your self, where am I rooted, and what’s causing the fruit I’m bearing, because tree doesn’t lie, our lives don’t like when we see fruit. We can live today showing what we want people see about us, cover-up makeup dress up, show up, …Goal: Everyone thinks seriously about their own roots, where it is and how deep are they. Begin grounding it in Christ, the way of Christ, and commit to Christ-centered community where God plants them.
