German preliminary consumer price inflation for February is due, after some increases in the French and Spanish data. It is not helpful to describe these numbers relative to consensus, because consensus ranges are becoming so wide as to make the concept dubious. Profit-led inflation does risk higher price increases at the start of the year (when companies traditionally raise prices).
