German preliminary December consumer price inflation is due. The consensus is for deflation in the monthly change, and a drop to 10.2 percent year over year (EU harmonized version). However, the ‘consensus’ has a huge range, from 8.7 percent to 11.7 percent year over year, so a lower than ‘expected’ number would probably not be a huge surprise.
