The Rest Is...VR, XR, & Live Events (With Selen Lun)

This week, Jacki and Lyle are joined by the wonderful Selen Lun, professional artist, performer, creative, and founder of both the Lun Family Company and live virtual and extended reality events company XREventIst. In a wide-ranging and intriguing episode, Selen talks about her career journey so far, and how the Covid pandemic led to a change in direction from a career in performance and the theatre to her current work in the VR and XR industry. Selen also discussed how the Lun Family Company was founded, and how it became an organisation that encompassed all of her creative output in one place. Jacki quizzes Selen on how an NGO like XREventIst, which provides free live VR and XR events for anyone interested in this exciting new technology, is able to sustain itself financially, and Lyle discusses the importance of adapting to these technologies, such as VR and AI, rather than fearing them and slowing them down. At the very top of the episode, Jacki, Lyle and Selen also offer a timely reminder that the recovery efforts in Turkey, Selen's homeland, continue in the aftermath of the tragic earthquake earlier this year.
