Responses to the Fall of Roe / Women Working on the Ground to Protect Abortion

To help us better understand the struggle we’re in right now for a woman’s right to control her own body, we're joined by two guests: Melanie MacLennan works as an addiction doctor here for the New York City health system. Until around 2008, she was an abortion doctor and performed abortions in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas. She was 18 years old when Roe was decided and is furious about what’s happening now. We also hear from journalist and documentary filmmaker Erin Sheridan. Erin has been a contributing writer for The Indypendent since 2018. She covered abortion defense activism when she was based here in New York City. She is currently living in Boise, Idaho where abortion rights are dire threat.
