16 The Good Food vs. Bad Food Approach

Binge on Self-Love - En podcast av Anna Strnadel - Tisdagar

What food do you associate with the word “healthy” or “good”? And what food, on the other hand, do you associate with the word “unhealthy” or “bad”? Chances are that you answered something like salad or broccoli, or avocado to the first question. And for the latter, I guess you said something like pizza, or ice cream, and fries, and chocolate; simply food that most of us enjoy, but feel guilty about eating. For almost 8 years, I considered food to be my worst enemy. Through anorexia and binge eating disorder, I created a list of food "safe to eat" and food that I needed to avoid at all costs. But it never was that easy. With my "good food vs bad food" mindset, I became terrified by food, I believed eating "bad food" made me bad. In today's episode, I share my experience with the "good vs bad food" mindset and my thoughts on why such a mindset is detrimental to our mental health, as well as few tips that could possibly help you to stop seeing food black and white.  RESOURCES: SCHURRER, Mary-Elizabeth.
